Note 001
About Nunbask
Nunbask is an independent editorial register of hotels. It covers four categories — art hotels, capsule hotels, casino hotels and ice hotels — and keeps a small, deliberately limited number of entries in each. The aim is not coverage. The aim is that every entry is worth reading.
Each entry describes a property as a building and an operation: what it is, how it came to be that way, what the stay actually involves. We do not score hotels, we do not rank them against one another, and we do not publish user reviews. A ledger records; it does not adjudicate.
How entries are written
Entries are written from general, publicly established characteristics of each property — its location, its architecture, its format and its principal facilities. Where a hotel's history matters to understanding it, that history is summarised briefly. Details that change frequently, such as rates, seasonal openings and menus, are deliberately left out, because a register that carries them goes out of date within weeks.
Independence
Nunbask takes no bookings and processes no reservations. Inclusion is an editorial decision. If a property changes materially, the entry is amended rather than removed, and the register continues.
On the casino category
Casino hotels are covered here as hotels: full-service properties with rooms, restaurants, theatres and spas, where a gaming floor is one facility among several. Entries describe the property as a whole. Nothing on this site is gambling advice or promotion, and no gaming of any kind takes place here.
